Charitina the Martyr

284-305 AD

Always defending Christ’s name, Charitina never betrayed her Orthodox Faith. Under the rule of Diocletian, he ordered her to suffer great pains, like her teeth being pulled out and her fingernails being torn off of her flesh. She remained steadfast. They even tortured her by shaving her head and burning her scalp. After tying a stone to her neck and throwing her into a lake, God saved her from death and all of her hair grew back immediately. The emperor Diocletian finally decided to send her to the brothel house. Before being tormented of this fate, she prayed to God to have mercy and He then took her soul. A fourth century saint who had an unceasing love for Christ.
